More than puppy school. A behavioural foundation.
What makes Archer's Puppy Academy different?
This program focuses on behavioural development during the Critical Socialisation Period, not just obedience. The biggest difference comes in how socialisation is approached. People often assume good socialisation simply means friendly interactions with other puppies.
Whilst important, this is just a fraction of what makes for good socialisation.
Experiencing different environments, sounds, objects, textures and smells are crucial for puppies to experience in order to give them the best start. These aspects of socialisation are often overlooked, leading to problems later on, such as odd phobias or unexpected behavioural triggers.

Juvenile Development Program (4-week program); $650
For dogs aged 4–10 months who have missed the early puppy training window or are beginning to develop unwanted behaviours.
This stage is where things start to change. Dogs become more independent, more confident, and a lot less interested in doing things just because you asked nicely.
In many cases, behaviours that were once “cute” or manageable are now becoming habits. This program is designed to step in before those habits fully set, or to start breaking them if they already have.
Training is conducted in your home and real-world environments, so we’re not just teaching commands; we’re working directly with the behaviour as it happens.
What we focus on:
🐾 Strengthening engagement and responsiveness around distractions
🐾 Building calm behaviour in high-arousal situations (guests, doorways, movement, etc.)
🐾 Addressing established behaviours (jumping, mouthing, pulling, barking, overexcitement)
🐾 Improving impulse control and decision-making
🐾 Teaching practical obedience that actually holds up outside
🐾 Introducing structured outlets (including enrichment and nosework) to reduce excess energy and frustration
Ideal for:
🐾 Dogs that have “started to get away from you”
🐾 Owners noticing behaviours getting worse, not better
🐾 High-energy or easily overstimulated dogs
🐾 Dogs beginning to show reactive or impulsive tendencies
🐾 Households struggling with consistency or structure
🐾 Owners who want real understanding; not just commands
