Adult and Juvenile Dogs
Not every dog gets the right start. Whilst my focus is on early development and socialisation, it doesn't mean our older companions are turned away.
Some miss that early window.
Some pick up bad habits along the way.
Some just need a bit of direction.
Some were just unlucky with genetics.
I don't take on a high volume of these cases. Not because I don't want to; but because they require more time, more attention, and the right fit.
What I Help With
This isn't about teaching a few commands.
It's about understanding what's actually going on and fixing it properly.
Common area's I work with:
-
Fearfulness / Timidity
-
Aggression
-
Over arousal
-
Pulling on lead
-
Impulse control
-
Dogs that "just don't listen"
My Approach
Same as with puppies:
-
Build understanding and communication first
-
Esablishing a better relationship
-
then behaviour follows
I don't create shortcuts. I don't give quick fixes. I don't believe in "Just correct the dog and hope for the best". Whilst I may initially determine some management strategies for the interim, I also believe relying on management is not a final solution.
Who I work best with
This is a good fit if you:
-
are open to changing how you interact with your dog
-
are willing to put in daily effort
-
want to understand your dog, not just control them
These cases are rarely a one session fix. Most of the dogs I see here have had behaviours building and strengthening over time. They have become habits; which means they won't disappear overnight. Behaviour modification requires effort and commitment from you, not just your dog.
If you see improvement during the first session, that's just a preview of what your dog is capable of. The real work is what happens the remaining 160+ hours of the week.
Sessions and Pricing
Private sessions are $200 per session (approximately 60min).
This includes:
-
Hands-on coaching with you and your dog
-
Clear, practical steps you can apply immediately
-
Real-time adjustments based on what I'm seeing
-
Ongoing guidance on what to focus on between sessions
Note: Sessions are structured around 60min, but I don't work on a stopwatch. If we need a bit longer to work through something properly, we will. I would rather spend an extra 15-20min getting it right instead of rushing through something.
